My dad rocks!

August 12, 2005 @ 5:52 am

About a month ago, we started having trouble with our car. The
shifting started to act strange. Then it started making a growling noise in
first gear and reverse. Since our car has a manual button to make the automatic
transmission act a little more like a manual transmission we were able to put
off dealing with it for a few more weeks. During that time I took it to a
transmission shop and they said it would be $1,600 to $2,000. So that was out
of the question.

After putting my info into www.junkyarddog.com, I was able to find
two used transmissions each for $400 dollars. The only problem is that I am not
an experience transmission repairman, so I needed some help. Both my brother
and my dad have done it before, so I talked to each of them. My brother agreed
to help me, but he was out of town so we would have to wait about three weeks. All
was going well, until out car stopped moving, and so we really had to get it
fixed soon. My dad lives in Florida, and we
live in Tennessee,
but he agreed to drive up and spend a few days with me and Aneta. He came up
and the next day we took out the old transmission, and then two days later when
the new one arrived, we put it in. It was so much fun working on our car with
daddy, and the rest of the time it was great hanging out with him. My dad
rocks!
